Trepibutone is a drug used forfunctional gastrointestinal disorders.[1] Trepibutone promotes secretion of thebile andpancreatic juice, and accelerates flaccidity of the smooth muscle in thegastrointestinal tract to lower internal pressure of thegallbladder andbile duct. It improves the symptoms of thebile duct andpancreatic disease. It is usually used for improvement of cramp and bile secretion associated with cholelithiasis,cholecystitis,cholangitis, dyskinesia of the biliary tract orpostcholecystectomy syndrome, orpain and gastrointestinal symptoms associated withchronic pancreatitis.[2]
