Tranqui is an island of theChiloé Archipelago in southernChile. It has three sectors: San Jose, Tranqui Nepué and Sentinel, all with smallpopulations. A significant part of itsforest still has not been touched by thesubsistence agriculture which forms the bulk of the province'srural economy.[1]
