TheTracks Across Borders Scenic and Historic Byway is an 89-mile (143 km)Colorado Scenic and Historic Byway located inLa Plata andArchuleta counties,Colorado, USA. FromDurango, Colorado, the southern terminal of theDurango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, aNational Historic Landmark, the byway follows the roadbed of the historicnarrow-gaugeDenver and Rio Grande Western Railroad through theSouthern Ute Indian Reservation to theNew Mexico state line. At the state line, the byway connects with the 9.9-mile (16 km) Narrow-Gauge Scenic Byway which continues on through theJicarilla Apache Indian Reservation toDulce, New Mexico. New Mexico plans to continue the byway on toChama, New Mexico, the southern terminal of theCumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, anotherNational Historic Landmark, reconnecting the historic railway betweenAntonito, Colorado andSilverton, Colorado.
The byway connects to theSan Juan Skyway Scenic and Historic Byway at Durango.
