Toytown techno (also known askiddy rave orcartoon rave)[1] is an underground subgenre oftechno that emerged in the early 1990s, characterized by merging techno,jungle, orbreakbeat hardcore withsamples fromchildren's television series orpublic information films.[2]

Popular songs within the subgenre includeAlpha Team's "Speed",Mark Summers' "Summers Magic",Smart E's "Sesame's Treet",the Prodigy's "Charly",Shaft's "Roobarb and Custard", andUrban Hype's "A Trip to Trumpton",[3] which featured samples fromSpeed Racer,The Magic Roundabout,Sesame Street,Charley Says,Roobarb, andTrumpton, respectively.[2]
