Toshiaki Imae (今江 敏晃,Imae Toshiaki; born August 26, 1983 inKyoto, Japan) is a Japaneseprofessionalbaseball formerinfielder and manager for theTohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles ofNippon Professional Baseball (NPB).
Imae won theMost Valuable Player award in both the 2005 and 2010 Japan Series.
He selected2018 NPB All-Star game [jp].[1]
On October 17, 2023, theTohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles announced that Imae would be promoted fromhitting coach to manager for the 2024 season, replacingKazuhisa Ishii.[2]
