Antonius Wilhelmus Maria "Toon"Becx (21 April 1920 − 26 November 2013) was aDutchfootballer who played forWillem II, primarily as aleft winger.[1]
Known as a free-kick specialist with a fierce shot,[2] Becx played his entire career forWillem II, scoring 113 goals in 329 matches.[3] He made his debut in the 1939–40 season, won two Dutch league titles with them under legendary Czech coachFrantišek Fadrhonc (the first Dutch professional league title in 1955) and formed a prolific strike force withJan van Roessel andPiet de Jong.[4]
During the Second World War he wasforced to work in Germany.
Toon Becx died on 26 November 2013, aged 93, inTilburg,North Brabant.[4]
