Thomas J. Myers (February 9, 1901 – July 1, 1944) was an American professionalfootballback who played two seasons in theNational Football League (NFL) with theNew York Giants andBrooklyn Lions. He playedcollege football atFordham University.
Thomas J. Myers was born on February 9, 1901, inNew Britain, Connecticut.[1][2] He attended Mahanoy City High School inMahanoy City, Pennsylvania.[3]
Myers was a member of theFordham Maroon ofFordham University from 1920 to 1923 and a three-yearletterman from 1921 to 1923.[3] He was team captain in 1923.[1]
Myers played in two games for theNew York Giants of theNational Football League (NFL) during the team's inaugural 1925 season.[2] He wore jersey number 4 while with the Giants.[2]
Myers appeared in two games, starting one, for theBrooklyn Lions of the NFL in 1926.[2] Myers stood 5'8" and weighed 170 pounds during his pro career.[2]
Myers was a football coach and athletic director atSt. Peter's Preparatory School from 1927 until his death in 1944.[1] He died on July 1, 1944, inNew York City after being sick for a year due to being hit by a piece of ice.[1][2]
