Thomas Henry Atherton (8 January 1879 – 1955) was an English professionalfootballer who played in theScottish League forPartick Thistle,Motherwell,Dundee andSt Bernard's as anoutside right.[4] He also played inEngland forBrentford,Tottenham Hotspur andGrimsby Town.[1][5]

Personal life

Atherton was the son of Samuel Atherton and Ann Williams and was the older brother of footballerBobby Atherton.[6][7] Atherton married Rachel Steedman Scott inMorningside in 1903 and they had three children.[2]
