Tomasz Łuczak

Polish mathematician

Tomasz Łuczak (born 13 March 1963 inPoznań)[1] is a Polishmathematician andprofessor atAdam Mickiewicz University in Poznań andEmory University. His main field of research iscombinatorics, specificallydiscretestructures, such asrandom graphs, and theirchromatic number.[2]

Under supervision ofMichał Karoński, Łuczak earned his doctorate at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań in 1987.[3] In 1991, he received theKuratowski Prize and the following year, he was awarded theEMS Prize. In 1997, he won the prestigiousPrize of the Foundation for Polish Science for his work on the theory ofrandom discrete structures.
