Thomas R. Root (born September 20, 1973) is an Americanwriter,producer,director andvoice actor known for his work onRobot Chicken.
Root was born inIowa City, Iowa. He attendedCentral Michigan University, graduating with a degree in journalism. While at CMU, Root edited the student newspaperCM Life.[citation needed]
Root was one of the original staffers ofToyFare magazine, and was a staff writer andcopy editor forWizard Entertainment's family of publications.[1] While atToyFare, he was a co-writer of the magazine's 's popularTwisted ToyFare Theatre feature.[2]
Root co-wroteWriters on Comics Scriptwriting, vol. 2, with Andrew Kardon in 2004.[3] He also wroteArchie Comics' 200th issue ofJughead in 2010.[4]
Root andRobot Chicken co-creatorMatthew Senreich created theAdult Swim seriesTitan Maximum which premiered on September 27, 2009.[5] He was a writer onLucasfilm's animated seriesStar Wars Detours. Root also wroteThe Simpsons'Robot Chicken-style animated opening in 2013.[6]
