Thomas Murphy is anAustralian rules footballer who currently plays for theFrankston Football Club in theVictorian Football League (VFL). He previously played forNorth Melbourne in theAustralian Football League (AFL).[1]

Murphy made his AFL debut in round 12, 2018, against theBrisbane Lions atDocklands Stadium,[2] as a late replacement forJarrad Waite.[3]

He originally played for theDandenong Stingrays in theTAC Cup. He trained with North Melbourne'sVictorian Football League squad before he was drafted by North Melbourne with pick 4 in the2017 rookie draft. Recruiting manager Mark Finnigan said that Murphy was selected for his penetrating kick and mix of speed and endurance.[4]Murphy was delisted byNorth Melbourne at the end of the2020 AFL season after a mass delisting byNorth Melbourne which saw 11 players cut from the team's list.[5]
