Thomas Robert Hoge (/ˈhɡ/;[2] born May 25, 1989) is an Americanprofessional golfer on thePGA Tour.

Amateur career

Born inStatesville, North Carolina, Hoge was raised and still resides inFargo, North Dakota.[3] After graduating fromFargo South High School in 2007,[4] he played college golf atTexas Christian University, where he won two events.[5][6][7] Hoge tied for third in the individual portion of the2009 NCAA Championship,[5] and also won several North Dakota andMinnesota amateur titles.[5][8]

Professional career

Hoge turned professional after graduating from college in 2011, initially on theCanadian Tour, where he won that year'sCanadian Tour Players Cup.[3] He played on theWeb.com Tour from2012 through2014; his best finishes were a pair of second-place finishes at the2013BMW Charity Pro-Am and theNationwide Children's Hospital Championship in September2015.

Hoge has played on thePGA Tour since2015; that August, he co-led after 36-holes (withTiger Woods) at theWyndham Championship.[9] His first 54-hole lead was at theSony Open in Hawaii in January2018, where he climbed from second after 36 holes,[10][11] but shot par in the final round and finished a stroke back in third place.

In his 203rd start on the PGA Tour, Hoge gained his first victory in February2022 at theAT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He shot a final round 68 for 268 (–19), two strokes ahead of runner-upJordan Spieth.[12]

In March 2023, Hoge made the cut at thePlayers Championship on the number, then set a tournament record by shooting a 10-under 62 in the third round.[13]
