Toluca Car Assembly is a 220-acre (89 ha)[1]Stellantis (ex-Chrysler Group)automobile factory inToluca,Edomex, Mexico, opened in 1968. Toluca Stamping is located nearby.[clarification needed]
In March 2006,DaimlerChrysler announced a US$1 billion investment[1] in the plant creating aflexible manufacturing system (FMS) to allow simultaneous production of vehicles of differingplatforms.[2][self-published source?] The plant currently assembles theJeep Compass for the North and Latin American markets.
The expanded Chrysler Park adjoins the plant and represents a joint venture of eight outside suppliers, including TRW, Magna Intier, IPO, Seglo, HBPO, Android, Brose and Gestamp.[1]
