Tokyo Alice (東京アリス,Tōkyō Arisu) is a Japanesemanga series written and illustrated byToriko Chiya. It was serialized inKodansha'sjosei manga magazineKiss from October 25, 2005,[1] to August 25, 2015.[2] Its chapters were collected in 15tankōbon volumes.[3] A live-action drama premiered in Japan from August 25, 2017, and ran for 12 episodes; it was later released internationally onAmazon Prime Video in 2019.[4]

  • Fu Arisugawa (portrayed byMizuki Yamamoto), a free-spirited office worker at a design production company. She loves shopping and is usually thinking about getting fashions at boutique shops. She is 26 years old at the start of the series.Vol. 2 profiles She develops an interest in her boss Shinji Okuzono.[5][6][7]
  • Sayuri Enjoji[3] (portrayed by Aya Asahina),[6] an upper-class girl who works as a gallery assistant in Ginza. She feels she must comply with her family's expectations of marrying aUniversity of Tokyo alumnus, and allows them to set up a suitor for anarranged marriage. Volume 4 reached the 18th place on the weeklyOricon manga chart[23] and, as of February 23, 2009, has sold 68,715 copies;[24] volume 5 reached the 15th place and, as of November 15, 2009, has sold 32,259 copies;[25] volume 6 reached the 19th place[26] and, as of November 21, 2010, has sold 69,800 copies;[27] volume 7 reached the 22nd place and, as of July 3, 2011, has sold 69,064 copies;[28] volume 8 reached the 15th place and, as of February 19, 2012, has sold 48,887 copies;[29] volume 10 reached the 23rd place and, as of January 20, 2013, has sold 58,779 copies;[30] volume 11 reached the 33rd place and, as of July 20, 2013, has sold 55,090 copies;[31] volume 12 reached the 35th place and, as of January 19, 2014, has sold 49,663 copies;[32] volume 13 reached the 33rd place[33] and, as of July 20, 2014, has sold 48,126 copies.[34]

It was nominated for Best Shōjo Manga at the 38thKodansha Manga Awards.[7]
