Todd Rucci (born July 14, 1970) is an American former professionalfootball player who was aguard for eight seasons with theNew England Patriots of theNational Football League (NFL) from 1993 to 2000. He playedcollege football for thePenn State Nittany Lions. He was astarter inSuper Bowl XXXI for theNew England Patriots.
Rucci graduated in 1988 fromUpper Darby High School where he also excelled at theshot put anddiscus on thetrack team. He was in the same high school class as Bill Jensen andTina Fey.[citation needed]
Selected in the second round of the1993 NFL draft (51st overall), Rucci was honored by being named to the New England Patriots 1990s All-Decade Team.[1] His son Hayden Rucci played tight end for theUniversity of Wisconsin–Madison, while another son Nolan Rucci was a 5-star offensive line prospect for the 2021 class before also committing to the University of Wisconsin.[2]
