Tobias Warschewski (born 6 February 1998) is a German professionalfootballer who plays as aforward forCanadian Premier League sideCavalry FC.

Club career

Warschewski played forPreußen Münster in the2016–17,2017–18, and2018–19 seasons where he scored five goals in 463. Liga appearances.[1]

On 21 July 2020, Warschewski signed withRegionalliga Nord sidePhönix Lübeck.[2] On 23 September 2020, he made his debut as a 73rd-minute substitute and scored his first goal for the club in a 3–0 win overHeider SV.[3] He went on to make another four appearances for Phönix that season, for a total of one goal in five appearances.[4]

On 19 February 2021, Warschewski signed a one-year contract withCanadian Premier League sideFC Edmonton.[5] He scored his first goal for Edmonton on 31 July againstValour FC, netting the second goal in a 3–1 victory.[6] Warschewski was one of the few bright spots in a disappointing season for FC Edmonton, as he finished the season with the most assists in the league, with 7, even as Edmonton finished in seventh place.[7] On 9 February 2022, the club announced that Warschewski and all but two other players would not be returning for the 2022 season.[8]

In February 2022, Warschewski signed a one-year deal with an optional extension withYork United, and was then immediately loaned back toFC Edmonton.[9] 2022 was expected to be a difficult season for Edmonton, with financial issues drastically affecting the club.[10] In their first match of the2022 season, he scored abicycle kick in the final seconds to ensure a 1–1 draw againstValour FC.[11] In December 2022, York announced Warschewski would be departing the club.[12]

On January 16, 2024, he joined fellow Canadian Premier League clubCavalry FC on afree transfer, signing a one-year contract with an option for two more seasons.[13][14] At the end of the2024 season, Warschewski scored five goals in Cavalry's final goal games to win the CPL Golden Boot.[15][16] On 10 November, he scored a goal and was awarded theCPL Final MVP award in a 2–1 victory overForge FC in the2024 CPL final, helping the club win their first league title.[17]

International career

In March 2017, Warschewski played for Germany'sU-19 team inUEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying, making his debut as a substitute againstCyprus.[4] He was subsequently called up for the final tournament that July, where he made a substitute appearance against theNetherlands and then appeared as a substitute again againstEngland, scoring a consolation goal in a 4–1 loss.[4]
