Timothy Reckart Jr. is an Americananimator and director based inLos Angeles.
Reckart grew upCatholic inTucson, Arizona, where he attendedUniversity High School.[2][3] He studied History and Literature atHarvard University where he graduated in 2009.[2] He later attended theNational Film and Television School inBeaconsfield,Buckinghamshire, UK, where he graduated in 2012 from the Directing Animation course.[4]
Reckart is best known for his 2012 filmHead over Heels, nominated for theAcademy Award forBest Animated Short Film in 2013.[5]
Reckart is currently based inLos Angeles where he also does work in multiplane collage animation, digital2D animation, andpixilation. In 2017, he directed the Christian animated film based on theNativity of Jesus,The Star, forSony Pictures Animation.[6][7]
