Timo Leino (May 16, 1936 – January 18, 2014) founded the Department of Speech Technique in theUniversity of Tampere in 1974. He was the head of department from 1974 to 2001. Leino pioneeredspeech analysis inFinland. He worked to develop speech education in Finland.[1]
