Timote Taliai Manoa (born September 9, 1964) is a Tongan-born former professionalfootball player. He playedfullback for four seasons in theNational Football League (NFL) for theCleveland Browns andIndianapolis Colts. He played collegiately atPenn State and was a member of both the1986 national championship team.Manoa was born in Tonga, but at age 10 moved toHawaii where he discovered American football.[3] He attendedKahuku High School from grades 7 to 9 before moving toWexford, Pennsylvania. There he attendedNorth Allegheny High.[3] Manoa was named a ParadeAll-American[4] and was heavily recruited by several top college football programs, includingWest Virginia,Pitt,Hawaii, andOhio State, before selecting Penn State.[3]

After outstanding junior and senior seasons as part of Penn State's "Baby Bull Backfield" fullback tandem (withSteve Smith),[4] Manoa was invited to theHula Bowl,Senior Bowl, and theNFL Combine[3] where his NFL draft stock rose steadily. He was selected in the 3rd round (#80) of the1987 NFL draft by the Browns.[5] He would play 3 seasons in Cleveland underMarty Schottenheimer andBud Carson before moving on for a final season with Indianapolis.

Manoa now teaches speed training at Rocky's Personalized Training inBoardman, Ohio.[3]
