ATillana orthillana is a rhythmic piece inSouth Indiancarnatic music that is generally performed at the end of a concert and widely used inclassical Indian dance performances. It was popularised byM Balamuralikrishna,Lalgudi Jayaraman and some other musicians[1][2][3] A Tillana uses tala-like phrases in thepallavi andanupallavi, and lyrics in thecharanam.

Thethillana is based on thetarana which was introduced byAmir Khusrau (1253-1325 CE).[4]
