Tikiodon is an extinct genus ofmammaliamorphs that lived in what is nowIndia during theLate Triassic. Itstype and only species isTikiodon cromptoni, which is known from a single lowerpostcanine tooth discovered at theTiki Formation ofMadhya Pradesh.[1]
The generic nameTikiodon comes from the Tiki Formation, itself named after the nearby village of Tiki, and the Greek wordodon, meaning "tooth". The specific epithetcromptoni is a reference to South African palaeontologistAlfred W. Crompton.[1]
