Tiffany Donnama James (born 31 January 1997) is a Jamaican sprinter who specialized in the400 metres and the4 × 400 metres relay.
She won numerous gold and other medals at the2012,2013,2014,2015 and2016 CARIFTA Games.[2]
At the 2013 World Youth Championships, she won the bronze medal in the400 metres but was disqualified in themedley relay. Her relay team was again disqualified at the2014 World Junior Championships, in addition to not reaching the individual400 metres final at the same event. At the2014 Summer Youth Olympics she reached the final in neither the400 metres nor the relay.[2] Her gold medal at the 2013 World Youth Championships, though, made her "the first Jamaican female to win gold in the event at a global meet".[3]
At her final World U20 Championships in 2016, she won the gold medal in the400 metres and a silver medal in the4 × 400 metres relay.[2][4]
In 2018, James started competing regularly for the Jamaican national relay team. She first ran in the heats at the2018 World Indoor Championships, then at thePenn Relays, at the2018 Athletics World Cup finishing second before winning silver medals at both the2018 Central American and Caribbean Games and the2018 NACAC Championships. Individually, she won the gold medal at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games.[2]
In 2019, she again ran at the Penn Relays as well as the2019 World Relays. Her individual successes were limited this year, not making it to the final at the2019 NACAC U23 Championships, but she finished the season with three major medals in the relay: a bronze medal at the2019 Pan American Games, followed by the2019 World Championships where she helped win silver in themixed 4 × 400 metres relay and bronze in thewomen's 4 × 400 metres relay.[2]
James missed most of 2020 and mostly competed in Jamaica and the US in 2021.[2]
In 2022, she ran for the relay team in the heats at the2022 World Indoor Championships as well as the2022 World Championships. She reprised her role in the final round of themixed 4 × 400 metres relay at the 2022 World Championships, in which her team finished fifth.[2]
