TheTidore people are a majorMoluccans ethnic group living inNorth Maluku province ofIndonesia. They primarily live inTidore island and also in some parts ofHalmahera. They speak aPapuan language calledTidore.[1] The Tidore people are predominantlySunni Muslim and famous as the founders of theTidore Sultanate, a major Moluccan Muslim state.[2]
