Thomas Fontaine (born 8 May 1991) is a professionalfootballer who plays as adefender forChampionnat National clubSochaux.[1] Born in Réunion, he represents theMadagascar national team.[2]
Fontaine made his professional debut on 30 July 2012, coming on as a substitute forYacoub Meite in the 4–0 defeat toMonaco.
On 29 January 2022, Fontaine signed withNancy.[3]
After a brief spell withBeroe in Bulgaria, Fontaine joinedTFF First League clubGençlerbirliği on a one-and-a-half-year deal on 10 January 2023.[4]
On 21 August 2023, Fontaine joinedChampionnat National clubSochaux on a two-year deal.[5]
Fontaine represented theFrance U21 national team at the2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup.[6] Fontaine made his senior debut forMadagascar in a2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification win overSudan on 9 June 2017.[7][8] He represented the national team at2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
