In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. | |
TheThird Millennium Bible (TMB), also known as theNew Authorized Version, is a 1998 minor update of theKing James Version of theBible.[1] Unlike theNew King James Version, it does not alter the language significantly from the 1611 version, retainingJacobean grammar (including "thees" and "thous"), but it does attempt to replace some of the vocabulary which no longer would make sense to a modern reader.
The TMB, like the original KJV in 1611, contains theApocryphal/Deuterocanonical books of theOld Testament in between the Old andNew Testaments, making a total of 80 books.[2] This has helped win it some support among traditionalistAnglicans andEastern Orthodox Christians.[citation needed]
A version without the Apocrypha (and with formatting changes) is known as the21st Century King James Version.[3][4][failed verification]
Vocabulary updates were based onWebster's New International Dictionary, Second Edition, Unabridged.[5]
