Thies Ole Prinz (born 7 July 1998)[1] is aGerman field hockey player.[2][3]
Thies Prinz was born and raised inBerlin, Germany.[4]
In club competition, Prinz plays forRot Weiss-Köln in the GermanBundesliga.[5]
Thies Prinz made his debut for theGerman U–21 team in 2016. His first appearance was during afour-nations series inValencia.[6] Later that year he went on to represent the team at theFIH Junior World Cup inLucknow, winning a bronze medal.[7]
In 2017, he won a second bronze medal with the junior team at theEuroHockey Junior Championship in Valencia.[8]
His final year with the team was 2019. He made multiple appearances throughout the year, competing in numerous test matches and at aneight-nations tournament inMadrid.[7] He finished his junior career on a high, winning gold at theEuroHockey Junior Championship in Valencia.[9]
Prinz made his debut forDie Honamas in 2017, during a three-nations tournament inMoers.[7]
He competed in thefirst season of theFIH Pro League.[10]
Following the retirements of senior players following the2020 Summer Olympics, Prinz was officially added to the national squad.[2]
