Therioherpeton is an extinct genus of small,carnivorouscynodonts belonging to the cladeProzostrodontia, which lived in what is nowBrazil during theLate Triassic. Itstype species isTherioherpeton cargnini. It was named in 1975 by the palaeontologistsJosé Bonaparte andMário Costa Barberena based on remains collected in theHyperodapedon Assemblage Zone of theSanta Maria Formation in theParaná Basin.[1][2]
