Theodore of Pherme was an Egyptian Christian monk who lived in the desert ofScetes inLower Egypt during the 4th century.[1] He was one of theDesert Fathers.[2]
Theodore was a monk atScetis and may have been trained byMacarius the Great andPambo. Once he was deaconized but refused the position out of humility, and wanted to live in solitude instead.[1] Theodore later moved toPherme after Scetis was sacked by barbarians in 408 A.D.[1]
