The Press is a newspaper covering North and EastYorkshire, England[6] It is published daily in theCity of York byNewsquest Media Group Ltd, a subsidiary ofGannett Company Inc.[2]
TheYorkshire Evening Press was established in 1882.[3] It changed frombroadsheet tocompact format in 2004[1] and shortly afterwards dropped "Yorkshire" from the title. Morning printing began on 24 April 2006, and the paper was given its present name.[citation needed]
William Wallace Hargrove printed at 9Coney Street.Paper was delivered bybarge along theRiver Ouse. In 1989, publication moved toWalmgate.[3]
The Press has run campaigns including theirGuardian Angels Appeal[7] andChange It.[8]
