Like Grisham's nonfiction book, the series follows two murder cases inAda, Oklahoma, between 1982 and 1984.[4][5] The cases examine the potentialfalse confessions ofRon Williamson, Dennis Fritz, Tommy Ward, and Karl Fontenot.[1][6]
