The Golden Anchor (German:Zum goldenen Anker) is a 1932 German-Frenchdrama film directed byAlexander Korda and starringAlbert Bassermann,Ursula Grabley, andMathias Wieman.[1] It is theGerman-language version ofMarius (1931), based onMarcel Pagnol's 1929play of the same title and the first part of hisMarseilles trilogy. Suchmulti-language versions were common during the early years ofsound. It was made at theJoinville Studios by the European branch ofParamount Pictures.
