The Games Machine was avideo game magazine that was published from 1987 until 1990 in theUnited Kingdom byNewsfield,[3] which also publishedCRASH,Zzap!64,Amtix! and other magazines.
The Games Machine ran head to head withFuture's recently launchedACE andEMAP's long runningC&VG magazines. Unhappy with the profits from the titleNewsfield decided to end the title in 1990.
Newsfield however would, more or less, continue with a multi format magazine withRaze.[4] This new title would concentrate on the ever risingconsoles like theMega Drive as well as the establishedNES andMaster System.
A magazine with the same name is still being published inItaly. While it started as an Italian translated version of the British magazine, it currently publishes original articles, and is one of the best sellingPC games magazines in Italy.
