The Baby Formula is a 2008Canadianmockumentary film, directed by Alison Reid.[1] The film starsAngela Vint andMegan Fahlenbock as Athena and Lilith, alesbian couple each pregnant with the other's baby through an experimentalstem cell procedure that created artificialsperm from their DNA.[2]

The film's cast also includesRosemary Dunsmore,Dmitry Chepovetsky, Matt Baram andMaggie Cassella.

Both Vint and Fahlenbock were actually pregnant in real life during the production of the film.[3] Vint gave birth during filming, necessitating some adjustments to the production schedule.[4]

The film premiered in August 2008 at theMontreal World Film Festival.[5] It was screened at theInside Out Film and Video Festival inToronto in 2009,[6] where it won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film.[7]
