The Accident (Spanish:Accidente) is a Mexicanthrillerdrama television series directed by Klych López andGracia Querejeta and written by Leonardo Padrón.[1] Produced by Mar Abierto Productions, and starsAna Claudia Talancón,Eréndira Ibarra andErick Elías.[2] The series premiered onNetflix on August 21, 2024.[3] The plot centers on the aftermath of three children dying when abouncy castle, full of children, flies away.[4] Season 2 premiered on December 10, 2025.[5]

The series was announced onNetflix.[7] Theprincipal photography of the series commenced in September 2023.[8] Much of the filming was done inTequisquiapan and nearby areas ofQuerétaro.[9]The trailer of the series was released on July 24, 2024.[10]

Reception

On thereview aggregator websiteRotten Tomatoes, 33% of 6 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 4.4/10.[11] Juan Pablo Russo ofEscribiendoCine rated the series 4 stars out of 10.[12] Joel Keller ofDecider reviewed the series.[13]

The series performed strongly in its first week on Netflix, accumulating 10.4 million CVEs in its first five days. This marks the second-best launch for a new series from Latin America on the platform.[14]
