TheTeushen language was anindigenous language of Argentina, possibly now extinct. It was spoken by theTeushen people, a nomadichunter-gatherer people ofPatagonia, who lived between thePuelche people to their north and theTehuelche people to the south, occupying the central part of the Tierra del Fuego region. The tribe is now extinct.
The language is thought to be related to theSelkʼnam,Puelche, andTehuelche languages. These collectively belong to theChonan language family.[1]
In the early 19th century, someTehuelche people also spoke Teushen.[2]
