TheTennessee Tech Golden Eagles football program is the intercollegiateAmerican football team forTennessee Tech University, located in the U.S. state ofTennessee. The team competes in theNCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and plays in theOVC–Big South Football Association, a joint venture between Tech's primary home of theOhio Valley Conference and theBig South Conference. The school's first football team was fielded in 1922. The team plays its home games at the 16,500 seatTucker Stadium and is coached byBobby Wilder.
On August 13, 2025, theSouthern Conference announced Tennessee Tech would become a member effective July 1, 2026.[2]
Tennessee Tech has won eleven conference championships, five shared and six outright. Their eleven Ohio Valley titles are the most in the conference of any current member, behind only former conference membersEastern Kentucky andMiddle Tennessee State.[3] The2025 Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles football team clinched a share of the OVC title in November 2025 and will play rival UT Martin for the right to win it outright on November 22.
