We are in 2017 and this box has events from 2014. It makes sense to provide access to older events, and it made sense to present these older events by default in the past to demonstrate a history of outreach. At this point though the history is wearing thin. I am not sure the this template needs to be redesigned this year, or even next, but now is the time to talk about when old events should retire and how this box should look in general.
Here are some options -
Use the same box
keep old events presented by default
keep old events available, but hide them to require an extra click to view
remove some or all old events to focus on this year's current events
Use any other sort of box

Design something new?
In New York City we useWikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Header for our event box. The NYC has been through some design changes but it also is many years old and has never thoroughly been considered or discussed.
I'd prefer to not remove links from the template, but I'm open to re-organizing and/or collapsing content. IMO, it'd be nice to collapse past years but keep links for the current year uncollapsed. ---Another Believer(Talk)15:37, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I looked more and I do not think it is possible to do with these templates. I neither like nor dislike this, and I am willing to tolerate it until someone has a better idea. Blue Rasberry(talk)16:17, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
