Usually, in South Korean books, Web sites, etc., Seoul is listed first, then the metropolitan cities, then the provinces. I've flipped the 3 categories around here so that they conform with the general order. --Sewing 16:41, 10 Aug 2004 (UTC)
The short forms currently used here are the standard ones, two syllables for each province. These (Chungbuk, Jeonnam, etc.) are the forms most commonly used, in both English and Korean; they also have the convenient feature of fitting more neatly into the box than would the full names. --Visviva13:41, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
