In articles which transclude this navbox template, a first parameter containing a year is specified, e.g.{{NBA seasons|1986}} in1985–86 NBA season, but is not documented. What does this parameter do, and is it correct that it is to specify thelast year of the season, and not thefirst (i.e. this example is more commonly referred to as the 1985 season, not the 1986 season).—[AlanM1(talk)]—08:20, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

checking the code, that parameter is only used for the links in the above section. since it is used for the year for the Finals and Playoffs link, you are correct to assume that it should be 1986 for the 1985–86 season.Frietjes (talk)14:41, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
