Randomness

[edit]

Why does this template include a random picking of countries, plus Antarctica? How a bout merging it withTemplate:Nationalflags, and perhaps adding links in its header tovexillology andheraldry for reference.=J//Big Adamsky23:20, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Its a navigational template for the various "List of...." flag articles. At the moment we only have a few countries with such articles, and when any new ones are created they are added here. Hopefully all countires can be listed at some point.Astrotrain10:21, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fork

[edit]

TheGallery of flags by design is branching on a different track than any list of national flags, as it incorporates flags of regions, cities, historical political entities, and even parties. Whether this is for good or ill, I wouldn't venture to say, but I can at least see some interest in having a means to compare different flag designs, of whatever significance, that use similar design elements. That said, it seems like sharing a template for lists of national flags with one for the growing number of galleries displaying design elements is less and less useful. Barring any objections, I'll work on making a new template for Flag design galleries in the next week or three. --Dystopos01:37, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By country?

[edit]

I don't think that that sections is well-titled. China, England, Falklands, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Rhodesia, Scotland, the Soviet Republics, and Wales aren't countries.Bastin 13:40, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

The articleCountry sets forth a more expansive definition of the term than you apparently subscribe to, and under which all of these examples count as countries (though not necessarilynations orstates). I think the section is well-titled. --ScottMainwaring17:36, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alignment

[edit]

Is anyone else seeing the title "Lists of flags" and "Master list" below it out of alignment?  If so, I'll apply some formatting to "Lists of flags". Thanks,David Kernow(talk)15:51, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Other Entities

[edit]

This section has information on cities, states/provinces, etc...as well as terminology for flags. I think this should be split off into 2 sections...Other Entities andTerminology orFlag Vexillology.Leobold1 (talk)00:34, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

State parameter

[edit]

This template doesn't seem to have set a parameter for its initial state. I assume that this is the reason that I can't control its initial visibility in individual articles. Is there any objection if I add that parameter (with a value of 'autocollapse')?NewYorkActuary (talk)13:33, 2 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Remove the CSA from the subsection of USA flags

The CSA is -not- apart of the United States. Its stated goal was to form independent of the USA and take territory from it. They do not belong as a flag category of it's primary adversary134.233.184.58 (talk)08:46, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please establish aconsensus for this alterationbefore using the{{edit semi-protected}} template. It seems like the correct place for it.ScottishFinnishRadish (talk)12:03, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
