going where?

[edit]

It doesn't go anywhere.

Now after moving it to an appropriate name, it does go somewhere. <bFSAFDFSFSAFSFV VFDAVF>DaGizzaChat(c)10:25, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Name change?

[edit]

One editor has changed Kartikeya to Murukan. Both refer to Lord Subrahmanya. Well, the former is known all over India while the latter is known only in a particular State of India. Is the change warranted in a Template?Apnavana 01:20, 11 August 2006 (UTC)BALWAN SINGH—Precedingunsigned comment added by59.92.146.16 (talk)07:14, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I want to edit this page beacuse I want to add the name of Lord Ayyappan here. He is the son of Vishnu and Shiva. He is a popular deity in Kerala. He has a large temple dedicated to him in Kerala, called Sabarimala. He should also be there on this list as he is a big god.

LordAyyappan is a Hindu deity with growing importance. He is the son ofShiva andVishnu. He should be added to this box.117.196.140.222 (talk)10:03, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done There is already a "more" category at the end and Ayyappan is included in that category.AbelmoschusEsculentus10:13, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Vaahana means vehicle and it doesn't come under the category of a class of beings in Hinduism. However, Kinnaras, Yaavanas and such beings should be made into entries.49.207.189.97 (talk)07:52, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide areliable source if appropriate.Alucard 16❯❯❯ chat?11:39, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Grāmadevatā

[edit]

Hello, shouldn't there be a link toGrāmadevatā under the "Other Deities" section. I can't do it since I'm not a registered user.216.158.244.248 (talk)00:09, 5 March 2021 (UTC)?[reply]

AddSangam Literature in "texts". It is umbrella term refered to most Hindu Tamil literature(esp shaivism) between 2nd century BC to 10th century CE. It is very important and prominent texts in south india, sri lanka, southeast asia. Also consider addingThirukkural there.157.49.185.57 (talk)06:37, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Organization

[edit]

The newly added organization enlists subordinate Dikpala deities like Ishana, Nirrti and Adityas (who though more popular in the Vedas, now have merged in the most prominent among them - Surya), before more importanat deities like Rama, Krishna, Ganesha, Kartikeya. Also, the enlisting prefers male deity group (Adityas, Dikpala) to female deity groups (Mahavidya, Matrika, Navadurga are not covered). The Prakriti concept is primarily included only in Brahma vaivarta purana. Reverting the BOLD move. Organisation can be discussed here.--RedtigerxyzTalk09:51, 20 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
