Needs a major reworking.

Nearest article toWorld War I red link is inHistory of modern Greece (1913–1920) section.Odysses()10:52, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have wikified this article, I used the UK topic template as a model as that seems to be the most widely used, this template was getting WAY too clustered anyway.--NeroDrusus02:39, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I like it. Good work! --Kimontalk12:26, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FAO El Greco

[edit]

Hi El Greco, I'm trying to only keep the general categories because that seems to be the general trend on wikipedia country infoboxes.--NeroDrusus22:23, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How can you talk about Greece without including anything about theTurkish Wars orPopulation exchange? Or theAegean Dispute? OrGreco-Turkish Relations? OrGreece during WWII? Or theKingdom of Greece? Or theRegime of the Colonels? Are you to tell me some article on theAegean Civilization dominates those topics. Let's not start on the topic ofGeography. Regions of Greece are obsolete compared toPeripheries andPrefectures. How can you include regions and not include those? What aboutGreek Shipping orTourism? Is that worthless compared to thelist of Greek Banks? Streamlining the template is one thing, but ignoring major Greek topics takes away from the purpose of the template. I know the Greeks have a long history with A LOT of stuff, but ignoring those major topics is not the right way to go just to fit into the norm (general trend).El Greco (talkcontribs)22:51, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your input, the thing is, the historical articles you cite are issues are dealt with within the aegis of 'History of Modern Greece' (an overview page of the History of Greece since 1821). As for shipping and tourism, they are two of the most important parts of the Greek economy. So you are free to add them to the economy section if you want. As for geography, regions tends to define a larger land mass than peripheries or prefectures (which are largely political divisions), Regions can be discussed in a geographic manner because of this, dealing with geology, respective climates, flora and fauna etc. --NeroDrusus07:55, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You still didn't answer me on the Turkey related topics. Are we just to ignore the relations between Greece and Turkey just like that? NoCyprus Dispute? NoAegean Dispute? NoGreco-Turkish Relations? Those are far to important just to streamline them like the whole History of Modern Greece link. Last time I checked those are very important political topics in Greece, which is why I'm going to add them back in.El Greco (talkcontribs)19:23, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
NikoSilver, to be honest I totally forgot about that one. Though it doesn't seem that important. It hasn't been a long dispute as with the Aegean or Cyprus ones or have such a profound impact. I'm not that worried about that topic.El Greco (talkcontribs)19:47, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to remove it,although Dora might disagree with you! :-)(having devoted so much space...)NikoSilver20:06, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added aSocial issues in Greece page if anyone wants to lend a hand.--NeroDrusus14:12, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
