The question ofMitterand and the far right is an important part of France's far right story. His early and (self claimed) normal involvement, his fellow travelling with theanti-gaullism of Petain defenders and his cynical divide and rule attitude to the Front National in the 1980s. I'd like a better place to put this than pre-45 people as although he was undoubtedly on the far right he was a minor figure pre Vichy, and it's his later ambiguous relationship that's more important than his original and unimportant pre 39 activism.JASpencer (talk)12:30, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
