I suggest that this template be retitled to "Ancient settlements in Turkey". I currently live in one of these "former" settlements along with a few hundred thousand otherKadıköylüler. A great many of the other "former" settlements are directly continued by Turkish settlements today (for example, the ancient ruins ofPergamon are scattered picturesquely round today's lively market town ofBergama).Q·L·1968☿18:26, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This template desperately needs more structure. At the current stage, it is completely unnavigable. Wouldn't it be possible to add some subcategories, say by time period, by founding culture (Greeks, Romans, etc.), or by finer geographic subdivisions? --bender235 (talk)18:47, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
