"Italian protectorate" in the "Independence" section is misleading:

Italys occupation of Albania in WW1 was not a protectorate and may be confused with "Union with Italian kingdom".

This is a legacy problem that I was able to track down to the fact that the content of "Italian protecorate over Albania" was moved to "Italian expeditionary corps in Albania (World War I)", but the page itself was turned into a redirect to "Treaties of Tirana", which covers the establishment of the Italian protectorate in the 1920s.

This lead to the current situation, where all links that were previously supposed to give more information on Italys occupation of Albania in WW1 now give unrelated information on Italys influence in Albania before WW2.

I suggest that "Italian protectorate" be replaced by "Italian expedition", linked to "Italian expeditionary corps in Albania (World War I)". Additionally, the Article "Treaties of Tirana" should be placed after "Vlora War". (Alternatively, it could be placed after "Albanian Republic")Tonuka (talk)11:13, 8 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Further Information: Whether there was an official Italian protectorate of Albania (1917-1920) seems to be a controversial discussion. Nevertheless, the current links are misleading.

I would like to change my proposal just a bit: I suggest that "Italian protectorate" be replaced by "Italian expedition", instead linked toItalian Protectorate on southern Albania. That page is currently a redirect toItalian expeditionary corps in Albania (World War I), and thus is effectively the same as my previous proposal, but can be more easily redirected to another page if consensus changes in the future.Tonuka (talk)08:09, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
