Usage

[edit]

This is a template that was created to easily update every article with the 2007 NFC standings.

The teams should be sorted according to the NFL tiebreaking rules, as indicated by suchreliable sources asCBS Sports' playoff picture page (the conference standings page on NFL.com are usually not accurate on this issue because they normally do not sort them by ALL the tiebreaking rules until the end of the season). Because of the complexities of the tiebreaking rules, anything that is notverifiable may be reverted on grounds oforiginal research. The footnotes listing the tiebreakers are currently displayed using the "lower-alpha" predefined footnote group (seeWP:EXPLNOTE).

To use the update on any article, insert:

{{2007 NFC standings}}

To highlight the San Francisco 49ers, insert:

{{2007 NFC standings|team=SF}}

The following are the codes for the teams in the NFC:

  • ARZ - Arizona Cardinals
  • ATL - Atlanta Falcons
  • CAR - Carolina Panthers
  • CHI - Chicago Bears
  • DET - Detroit Lions
  • DAL - Dallas Cowboys
  • GB - Green Bay Packers
  • MIN - Minnesota Vikings
  • NO - New Orleans Saints
  • NYG - New York Giants
  • PHI - Philadelphia Eagles
  • STL - St. Louis Rams
  • SF - San Francisco 49ers
  • SEA - Seattle Seahawks
  • TB - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • WAS - Washington Redskins
