
Temenothyra (Ancient Greek:Τημενοθύρα), orTemenothyrae orTemenothyrai (Ancient Greek:Τημενοθύραι or Τημένου θύραι,romanized: Temenou Thyrae, Temenouthyrai), was a town ofancient Lydia,[1] or ofPhrygia,[2] inhabited duringRoman andByzantine times.[3] It became a bishopric; no longer the seat of a residential bishop, under the name Temenothyrae it remains atitular see of theRoman Catholic Church.[4]
Its site is located nearUşak inAsiatic Turkey.[3][5]
