TheTees Valley mayor (also styled as themetro mayor of the Tees Valley and themayor of the Tees Valley[3]) is acombined authority mayor in England,first elected in May 2017. The mayor is leader of theTees Valley Combined Authority.

The office was created under theCities and Local Government Devolution Act 2016, which allowed for the creation ofmetro mayors to leadcombined authorities in England.[4] The election scheduled for 7 May 2020 washeld on 6 May 2021 due to theCOVID-19 pandemic.[5] The following election was held on2 May 2024.[6] The next election is due in May 2028.

The mayor is a member of theMayoral Council for England and theCouncil of the Nations and Regions.
