Taylor Fravel (born 1971) is an Americanpolitical scientist. He specializes in international security.
Fravel earned hisBA in history (summa cum laude) fromMiddlebury College in 1993,MA inphilosophy, politics and economics fromNew College, Oxford as aRhodes Scholar in 1995,MS in international relations (with distinction) fromLondon School of Economics, andPhD in political science fromStanford University in 2004.
Fravel is the Director of the Security Studies Program atMassachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)[1] and is associated withPrinceton University and theAmerican Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is a member of the board of directors for theNational Committee on U.S.-China Relations[2][3] and a participant of the Task Force on U.S.-China Policy convened byAsia Society's Center on U.S.-China Relations.[4]
