Tawan Vihokratana (Thai:ตะวัน วิหครัตน์; born 20 July 1991), nicknamedTay (Thai:เต), is a Thai actor, television host, and model based inBangkok. A graduate ofChulalongkorn University, Tawan began his career in entertainment as a host on Bang Channel’sFive Live Fresh in 2014.[1] That same year, he made his television acting debut inRoom Alone 401-410 and gained notable recognition after being named one ofCleo Thailand’s 50 Most Eligible Bachelors of 2014.[2][3] He is best known forKiss: The Series (2016),Kiss Me Again (2018), andDark Blue Kiss (2019). In 2023, he starred as Karan in the Thai adaptation of the Japanese mangaCherry Magic.[4]
Tawan was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Focusing on science and mathematics, he completed his high school education atSuankularb Wittayalai School. He initially took up a bachelor's degree inchemistry from the Faculty of Science atChulalongkorn University (CU) but decided to shift and take up instead a bachelor's degree ineconomics from the Faculty of Economics at the same school.[5] He was selected to be one of the school's Generation 5mace-bearers for the 68thChula–Thammasat Traditional Football Match in 2012 which included future actorsPat Chatborirak and Pakorn Thanasrivanitchai.[6]
He was introduced in 2014 as one of the six new hosts ofFive Live Fresh, a youth-oriented music television program of the now-defunctBang Channel. Among his fellow hosts wereThitipoom Techaapaikhun andJumpol Adulkittiporn.[7]
He made his television debut in the same year withRoom Alone 401-410 where he played a supporting role as Warm. He also became part ofUgly Duckling: Don't (2015). In 2016, he got a supporting role inU-Prince:The Foxy Pilot (2016) andKiss: The Series (2016) where he played the role of Pete.
In 2017, he starred in the main role as Alan in the drama seriesSecret Seven: The Series. He later became known for his main role as Pete inKiss Me Again (2018) andDark Blue Kiss (2019). He also played the role of Shin in3 Will Be Free (2019). He also hosted the food web seriesTayNew Meal Date along withThitipoom Techaapaikhun.
In 2020, he joined the castI'm Tee, Me Too as Teedo and had a guest role inThe Gifted: Graduation. He is also one of the hosts ofFriend Club together withJumpol Adulkittiporn andWeerayut Chansook. He's the current host of his own lifestyle/talk show,Krahai Lao. In 2021, he starred as Tin inThe Player. In November 2022, GMMTV announced that he along with his co-starThitipoom Techaapaikhun, would be the main casts of the agency's adaptation ofCherry Magic (2023).
Outside his acting career, Tawan co-owns a spa called Bamboo Secrets along with Thitipoom Techaapaikhun.[8]
On 29 June 2017, he wasordained at theWat Bowonniwet Vihara.[9]
Tawan has supported the 2020–2021 Thai protests and opposed the use of violence in the 2020 Pathumwan dispersal, while also fiercely criticizing politics, both the situation of the people's protests, the situation during theCOVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, and the situation after the2023 Thai general election.[10][11][12][13][14]
